MARSHFIELD -- Richard C. "Dick" Treankler, 66, died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at the Marshfield Care Center.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Mark Krueger officiated.

Dick was born March 21, 1942, in the town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County, to Lloyd and Helen (VanDreel) Treankler. He married Judy Vick on Sept. 5, 1964, in March Rapids.  

He was a former fifth- and sixth-grade teacher at Arpin Elementary School until 1967 when he became employed by the Marshfield School District as fifth- and sixth-grade teacher at Madison Elementary School, retiring in 1998.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Charles (Christy) of Marshfield, and Steven (Anne) of Appleton; two grandchildren; his sisters, Mary (Don) White of Wausau, Donna Kilty of Edgar, Barbara (John) Bandow of Stratford, and Kathy (Ted) Weis of West Union, Iowa; and his brother, Darrell (Pete) of Marshfield.

Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, assisted the family with arrangements.

Richard C. "Dick" Treankler, 66, died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at the Marshfield Care Center.

He was the principal and a teacher at the Warrens Elementary School in Warrens; taught in the Auburndale School District, and the Marshfield School District where he was the fifth and sixth grade teacher at Madison Elementary School until 1998 when he retired.

Dick is survived by his wife, Judy (Vick) Treankler, Marshfield; two sons, Charles (Christy) Treankler, Marshfield, and Steven (Anne) Treankler, Appleton; two grandchildren; his sisters, Mary (Don) White, Wausau, Donna Kilty, Edgar, Barbara (John) Bandow, Stratford, and Kathy (Ted) Weis, West Union, Iowa; his brother, Darrell (Pete) Treankler, Marshfield; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield.

Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial will be established in Dick's name at a later date.
